Spring Call Out!

Hope everyone is enjoying their semester so far! We will be having out spring call-out meeting on Monday January 23rd at 9pm at the Wilcox House. At the meeting, we will be going over the plans for travel, hotels, entry fees, etc… for the spring road season that kicks off at Lindsey Wilson on February 25th/26th. For the full road schedule, please visit the IU Cycling webpage. If you intend to race this spring, please attend this meeting. If you haven't already, you'll be able to sign waivers, pay dues, and purchase and IUCC Kit at the conclusion of the meeting (you will not be allowed to race if you haven't signed a waiver and payed dues!)

Also, dont' forget to renew/purchase your USAC Collegiate license! Be sure to select Indiana University-Bloomington as your club!

2017 Hilly Hundred October 6-8 The Hilly Hundred is a 100-mile bike ride around scenic county roads around Southern Indiana. However, if you are not up for the 100-mile challenge, there are shorter routes available. This event is spread out into two day, so you will do up to 50 miles each day. All, We've heard our flier has a coordinate mistake! To get to the Road Race please use the following coordinates: 39.326648, -86.471945 . Also be advised that the exit of 37 (Future I69) onto Old 37 Rd. is barricaded. Please be prepared to take an alternate route. The easiest way to exit 37 on Chambers Pike Rd. and then go northbound on Old SR 37 all the way to the Morgan Monroe Forest or exit on North Fox Hollow Rd. and do the same. For simplicity purposes, if you are already staying the night in Bloomington it is easiest to get to the Forest by taking Old SR 37 from the get go all the way from Bloomington. If you are coming from North of Bloomington, you can also exit 37 (Future I69) on Liberty Church Rd. and take Hackers Creek Rd. all the way to Morgan Monroe Forest.

Intro to Cyclocross

What is Cyclocross? Developed in Europe in the 1900’s, cyclocross was a way for road cyclist to stay fit in the fall and winter. The transition from smooth pavement to off-road surfaces provided more difficult training conditions, improving  fitness  and bike handling  skills . The sport became very popular in Belgium, France and the Netherlands and has recently seen a major growth in the United States.    The cyclocross season typically runs from September to January and feature s  many laps of a short, circuit course ranging anywhere from one to three kilometers.
